MSK Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a dynamic, non-invasive exam that allows high-resolution, real-time evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders.  It is a cost-effective, reliable modality to assess and diagnose soft tissue conditions, strains, sprains, muscle tears, and other disorders. Non-invasive and dynamic imaging is beneficial when the range of motion is lost due to acute or chronic injury to major tendons, as well as in pain management and urgent care.

The UltraVision ultrasound scanner’s combination of excellent image quality, workflow, and features make the system the preferred choice for the musculoskeletal ultrasound application:

  • Needle Visualization (NV)

An advanced algorithm that sends acoustic lines to intersect the needle and uses elastography features to visualize tissue that is moved by the needle. This next generation of needle visibility enables ultra-fine needle placement with increased accuracy in guided injections procedures while maintaining excellent overall image quality.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is used in a variety of applications: Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Regenerative Medicine (via precision injection of Platelet Rich Plasma or Stem Cells), Podiatry, Physical Therapy, Anesthesiology, Pain Management, and Sports Medicine.

The musculoskeletal system is made up of the bones of the skeleton, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissue that supports and binds tissues and organs together.

The UltraVision being a high resolution, point of care ultrasound system is well suited to visualizing muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints throughout the body.
The UltraVision may be used to help diagnose sprains, strains, tears, trapped nerves, arthritis, guide needle placements and other conditions.
For comparison purposes we offer below brief studies showing the resolution and performance of the UltraVision
